Solving the minimum sum coloring problem via binary quadratic programming

چکیده
In recent years, binary quadratic programming (BQP) has been 7 successively applied to solve several combinatorial optimization problems. We 8 consider in this paper a study of using the BQP model to solve the minimum 9 sum coloring problem (MSCP). For this purpose, we recast the MSCP with 10 a quadratic model which is then solved via a recently proposed Path Relink11 ing (PR) algorithm designed for the general BQP. Based on a set of MSCP 12 benchmark instances, we investigate the performance of this solution approach 13 compared with existing methods. 14

A Mathematical Optimization Model for Solving Minimum Ordering Problem with Constraint Analysis and some Generalizations
In this paper, a mathematical method is proposed to formulate a generalized ordering problem. This model is formed as a linear optimization model in which some variables are binary. The constraints of the problem have been analyzed with the emphasis on the assessment of their importance in the formulation. On the one hand, these constraints enforce conditions on an arbitrary subgraph and then g...
متن کاملA New Approach for Solving Interval Quadratic Programming Problem
This paper discusses an Interval Quadratic Programming (IQP) problem, where the constraints coefficients and the right-hand sides are represented by interval data. First, the focus is on a common method for solving Interval Linear Programming problem. Then the idea is extended to the IQP problem. Based on this method each IQP problem is reduced to two classical Quadratic Programming (QP) proble...
متن کاملAn Unconstrained Quadratic Binary Programming Approach to the Vertex Coloring Problem
The vertex coloring problem has been the subject of extensive research for many years. Driven by application potential as well as computational challenge, a variety of methods have been proposed for this difficult class of problems. Recent successes in the use of the unconstrained quadratic programming (UQP) model as a unified framework for modeling and solving combinatorial optimization proble...
متن کاملA NEW APPROACH FOR SOLVING FULLY FUZZY QUADRATIC PROGRAMMING PROBLEMS
Quadratic programming (QP) is an optimization problem wherein one minimizes (or maximizes) a quadratic function of a finite number of decision variable subject to a finite number of linear inequality and/ or equality constraints. In this paper, a quadratic programming problem (FFQP) is considered in which all cost coefficients, constraints coefficients, and right hand side are characterized by ...
متن کاملParallel Jobs Scheduling with a Specific Due Date: Asemi-definite Relaxation-based Algorithm
This paper considers a different version of the parallel machines scheduling problem in which the parallel jobs simultaneously requirea pre-specifiedjob-dependent number of machines when being processed. This relaxation departs from one of the classic scheduling assumptions. While the analytical conditions can be easily statedfor some simple models, a graph model approach is required when confli...
